Rovers fans are still reeling from the shock of John Ryan quitting his role as the club’s chairman.
Joe Tideswell, 22, from Intake said: “He did good for Doncaster – better than anyone else has ever done. He put a lot of his own money into the club too. I reckon the club will really miss him.”
Paul Cooke, 37, who lives in Bentley, added: “He’s a legend – I can’t believe he’s gone. He rescued Rovers.”
“It’s been an honour for us to have someone like John as a chairman,” said Carl Gebbie, aged 37 from Balby. “He brought us up from the doldrums and achieved great things.
“He’s been great to us – I wish him luck in whatever he does next.”
“It’s such a shock,” said Dave Clowes,47, from Askern. “He was a very a very good chairman. The club’s definitely going to miss him.”
