Route changes are to be made to the 222 bus service in the Dearne Valley next week.
From Sunday September the first, all journeys will serve Burman Road, in Wath, in both directions,
At present the service serves Dearne Way between Sandygate and Station Road.
Rupert Cox, commercial director, Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “Earlier this year, we held a major consultation about bus services in Dearne Valley.
“We used the suggestions from the travelling public to help shape the future of our network.
“After the consultation finished, we received further feedback from people in Wath about the changes that had been made to Service 222.
“Customer feedback is extremely important to Stagecoach, so we met with members local councillors to listen to their suggestions and identify how we could meet their requirements.
“We’re delighted that, from Sunday 1 September, we will be changing Service 222 so it serves Burman Road in both directions.”
Together with Stagecoach services 22X and 226, the 222 provides buses every seven/eight minutes between Barnsley, Wombwell, Wath and Manvers,
The service runs from Monday to Saturday.
