A lucky Open All Hours fan was given a rare sneak peek inside Arkwright’s cluttered Doncaster film set shop.
Cameras are currently rolling at the Beautique hair salon on the corner of Lister Avenue and Scarth Avenue in Balby, which has once again been transformed by television production crews for exterior filming shoots for the new series, entitled Still Open All Hours.
Interior shots for the show have always been shot in the studio - with minimal set dressing inside the premises purely for realism on screen. Most fans are only able to view the shop from afar behind security barriers, but fan Mags Wilson-Storey was allowed to take a look inside the shop during a break from filming.
Mags and her mum saw inside the small salon - and the seat where acting legend Sir David Jason sits between scenes.
Interior shots for the show, due to be screened later this year, will be shot at Teddington Studios in Middlesex in October and November. Filming of the show, which sees David Jason’s character Granville having inherited the shop from his miserly uncle Arkwright, is due to conclude at the back end of next week.
