A Doncaster choir has beaten off competition from 40 others to be given then chance to work with a composer for a year.

The Quirky Choir based at The Point will be working with Anna Braithwaite to create new music for the group.

The choir was one of only six chosen ‘ensembles’ from 40 applicants chosen.

At the end of year the final piece devised by Anna with the Quirky Choir will be performed at a premier concert and may be recorded by BBC Radio 3 for broadcast on national radio.

Choir members Sarah Sutherland said: “We are so looking forward to her meeting the rest of the choir and for us all to work along with her over the next year”
