PUPILS from Saltersgate Junior School have been given an insight to life in the police force.

Year three pupils at the school are currently working on a project this term relating to the emergency services.

Edlington Safer Neighbourhood Team officers attended the school last week to explain the different roles, responsibilities and departments within the police.

The SNT also arranged for the police helicopter to make a special landing at the school, as well as police dogs with handlers who put on a display.

A police public order van was also on display as was a police support unit officer with full riot clothing.
