The Post Office is proposing to move Renishaw Post Office to a new location to create a modern open-plan local-style branch with extended opening hours and the Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.
Post Office local is a new concept for delivering Post Office services and the new Renishaw branch would offer Post Office products and services from an open plan service point integrated into the retail counter.
The proposed new location for the branch is Select & Save, 14 Main Road, Renishaw, Sheffield S21 3UT. This is 450 metres from the present Renishaw Post Office at 37 Circular Drive, Renishaw, Sheffield S21 3UG.
Should the move go ahead, the branch would open from 7am - 9pm Monday to Friday; 8am – 9pm Saturday and 9am – 9pm on Sunday, this would be 49 hours a week more than are currently offered.
The proposed move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.
Suzanne Richardson Post Office Regional Manager said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in this area and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community.
She added: “This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on 7 July 2016.
