Private fostering will be top of the agenda during North Lincolnshire Council’s Private Fostering Week next week.
From Monday to Sunday the council aims to ensure, those who want to know, understand exactly how private fostering works.
Coun Rob Waltham, cabinet member for People, said: “Many people are often unaware that they are part of a private fostering arrangement, which is why we are wanting to raise awareness. It is essential that we are informed when people are looking after someone else’s child, if they are not a close relative.
“Foster care can make a difference to a child’s life; therefore we need to be aware of any type of foster care arrangement to ensure that the child is receiving the best possible care.
“If you would like to know more about private foster care or to discuss your situation go along to the event in Brigg or call the Fostering team.”
The Fostering team will be at the Bandstand in Brigg on Thursday September 12 from 10am to 4pm to help raise awareness of private fostering. If you have any questions about this issue just go along to the event and the team will be on-hand to offer advice and support.
