Prisoner taken to hospital after Doncaster cell fire

An inmate at Doncaster Prison has been taken to hospital following a fire at the jail.

The prisoner suffered smoke inhalation after a fire was started in a cell at the Marshgate jail at around 6.15pm last night.

Crews from Doncaster Fire Station damped down at the scene.

The blaze is not thought to be serious and the prisoner is not thought to be seriously injured.
