Police warn residents to stay secure

RESIDENTS in Mexborough, Conisbrough and Denaby are being urged to make sure their homes are kept secure to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of burglary.

Doncaster Police are warning that the warmer weather brings an increase in sneak-in burglaries as people spend more time outdoors.

Officers say residents should keep all doors and windows locked, take keys and other valuables upstairs when going to bed and join a local neighbourhood watch scheme.

Householders are also encouraged to use lighting and switches to indicate someone is home and to have an effective house alarm fitted. Speak to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team for further advice.
