Police have arrested a man who was found to be travelling with carrier bags full of a cannabis on the back seat of his car as he made his way along a Doncaster stretch of motorway.

Working with North Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police officers stopped the 'suspicious vehicle' on the A1, just outside Doncaster at around 2am this morning.

A North Yorkshire police spokesman said: "Car with cannabis was stopped on A1 nr Doncaster around 2am. One male arrested. Still in custody."

Commenting on Twitter, North Yorkshire Police added: "Suspicious vehicle stopped using TPaC tactics with @SYPOperations on A1m. Large quantity of cannabis located."
