Poetry evening and exhibition at North Lincolnshire Museum

ELAINE Akester will be reading poetry at North Lincolnshire Museum on Thursday November 3 from 6pm to 8.30pm.

It will be an evening of poetry, art and fun with discussions about the art that is exclusive to Scunthorpe steel town. Elaine Akester will also be doing readings from her poetry collections.

‘All snickets lead to Scunthorpe’ is an exhibition at the museum showing what Scunthorpe means to people. People can take part and demonstrate their views by writing them, taking a photograph, drawing or sculpting them, carving, sewing, baking or painting them.

The exhibition will run until December 2011. It is a chance to celebrate art and culture produced by people in Scunthorpe and surrounding areas.

This poetry evening and exhibition are suitable for adults that are interested in Scunthorpe and its industrial history.

People will need to book in advance to attend the free poetry evening by contacting 01724 843533.
