Miss Hussain was out walking near the River Don when she made the strange discovery and jumped at the chance to capture the scary looking creature.

Miss Hussain, 21, of St Peter’s Road, Balby, said: “At first I saw something on the side of the river and I though it might have been a fox or something but when I got a bit closer I was really shocked.

“I didn’t know what it was, I though it might have been a crocodile or some kind of reptile.

“It had really big, sharp teeth, it’s not something you expect to see whilst out walking.”

The confused photographer who studies at Doncaster College posted the strange images on Facebook to get to the bottom of what the monster like creature was.

And it turns out that the solution to the fishy mystery is that the skull is that of a pike.

She added: “I had a lot of comments from people about the pictures.

“A lot of people seemed to think it looked like a crocodile but some said it was a pike fish.

“I’m really not sure but I’ve never seen anything like it.”
