Provocative and critically acclaimed comic Pete Johansson is set to perform in Doncaster as part of his new tour.
Pete arrives at Doncaster Dome on November 14 with his hotly anticipated ‘Several Jokes’ tour.
After touring the country with renowned American comic Reginald D. Hunter, Johansson will be embarking on his own tour delivering his brand of nuanced, provocative and silly humour to audiences across the UK.
People attending can expect a spectacular examination of Pete’s fears and faults, designed to enlighten the spirit and educate the soul. If that isn’t enough then there will also be some ‘animal talk’.
Johansson has been winning audiences over on both sides of the Atlantic with his unique brand of humour. His debut show at the Edinburgh Festival was nominated for the prestigious ‘Best Newcomer’ award in 2009 and the following year he was nominated for Chortle’s ‘Best UK Breakthrough Act’ award too.
Chris Hone, Head of Commercial Development at Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, said: “Johansson is an exceptional talent and we are very excited about him coming to the Dome.
“Pete is an international talent, he has appeared on various prime time shows both here and across the Atlantic and we are sure that he will give people at the Icebreaker a great night!”
Johansson’s TV appearances in the UK include the BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News and BBC 4’s Sex Bombs where he starred opposite Ed Byrne. Pete also has made notable appearances across the Atlantic on NBC’s Friday Night, The Comedy Channel’s Comedy Now and CBC’s gala show Just for Laughs.
Over the years Pete has won some fantastic acclaim from critics who have been astounded by the quality of his self-examining comedy, The List described his show as a “Laughter fest”, whilst The Independent called him “Supremely entertaining”. Further praise from The Scotsman described Pete as being, “assured, relaxed, open and gently hilarious on stage. This is observational, anecdotal, autobiographical comedy at its best.”
Pete Johansson will be performing at the Icebreaker Bar inside the Doncaster Dome on 14th November, the doors will open at 7pm and tickets will be priced at £12.
