Pedal pushers are invited to join the charity fun at the annual Misterton bike ride which takes place this weekend.

Entitled the “Give it to the charity of your choice” ride, the event is on Sunday, May 17, and individuals, families and teams can all get involved.

Starting at noon, there are two routes to take covering a ten or 15 mile circuit. Participants start at their “local” and cycle clockwise until they return to where they started.

The businesses involved, who are providing refreshments for children who are taking part, are - Surestart Centre, Old School, High Street (this can be the main start for people coming from further afield); Dovecote Cafe, Grovewood Road, Misterton; Misterton Sports Social Club, Fox Covert Lane, Misterton; Fox and Hounds, Walkeringham; Three Horse Shoes, Walkeringham (closed), Brickmakers Arms; for the serious cyclists the route then heads up the hill to Gringley to the Cross Keys (closed), onto the Blue Bell; Red Hart Inn, Church Street Misterton; White House Farm touring caravan park; Haxey Gate Inn, Haxey Road, Misterton; White Hart Inn, Main Street, West Stockwith; The Waterfront, Canal Street, West Stockwith; Waterfront Country Park, West Stockwith; Yacht Club, West Stockwith; Packet Inn (closed).

Sponsorship forms are available at any of these venues.

Anyone taking part can raise money for a charity of their choice.

“Please observe road safety, and try to wear a helmet.”
