COLLEGE friends of a teenager who died suddenly just days after complaining of flu-like symptoms have held a dance show fundraiser in her memory.
Aimee Garnett, 18, of Lynden Avenue, Adwick, died as a result of inflammation of the heart after experiencing swine-flu symptoms.
Friends of the teenage Doncaster College second year dance student, who died in November 2009, decided to hold a show-stopping event in her honour.
The 60-strong group’s performance at the college’s High Melton site raised £780 for the Cardiac Risk in the Young which Aimee’s mum Amanda collected on the charity’s behalf.
Marie Wroe, course leader for dance, said: “As Aimee loved to dance, what better way of showing that.”
