A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been left with two blood clots to the brain and bleeding on his spine after a fight broke out in a chip shop.

A 44-year-old man also ended up with swelling on his face from the chippy attack in Hallgate at around 3.15am on Sunday, January 29.

The attack happened when the men were returning home from a night out, having stopped off to order some food.

When their order was ready two men in their 20s who were also stood at the chip shop counter picked it up and started eating it.

The men who are both described as white with local accents, were told the food wasn’t theirs and then alledgedly went on to assaulted the pair.

One man is approximately 5ft 9ins tall, of average build with short dark hair that looked greasy. He was wearing a dark, long sleeved shirt with thin stripes.

The other man is approximately 5ft 10ins tall, stocky with a barrel chest. He had short fair hair and was wearing a white, long sleeved shirt with thin blue stripes and jeans.

Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch with them by calling their non-emergency 101 number or speak to Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 204 of January 29, 2012.
