A SPECIAL presentation has been held to mark the fundriasing efforts of a group of keen bag packers.

Doncaster army preparation students, in conjuction with the Army Recruitment Office and charity NACRO (National Association for the Care and Ressetlement of Offenders), have raised nearly £1,500 for Doncaster cancer group Firefly.

Firefly founder Denise Dunn was on hand to present the NACRO students with a plaque after packing bags at Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer in the town centre.

The group raised the money to help to fund an extra minibus for Firefly, which operates a free bus service to Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield for Doncaster cancer patients.

Denise said: “They are all interested and motivated about what Firefly is about.”
