Doncaster Little Theatre will again be producing a great family pantomime this year.
Auditions for Aladdin will be held at the Little Theatre, King Street, off East Laith Gate, on Sunday, from 2pm.
Would you like to be in the pantomime when it takes to the stage in December?
If so, why not come along to Doncaster Little Theatre and audition for a part.
If you feel you would like to take part do come along – previous experience of singing and dancing would of course be an advantage.
The Little Theatre has a great reputation for its family pantomimes.
The theatre also needs lots of new members.
We are looking for people who can assist back stage, and help with the box office and bar.
We would also like people who can help with make-up and costumes.
The theatre has been open now for some 20 years.
Over these years, many members have left to go to university and sadly some have passed on and this leaves gaps that desperately need to be filled.
The box office is open every day from 6pm to 8pm, and you can telephone on 01302 340422 if you need to book tickets or want help and advice.
There is concessionary parking on the adjoining car park, from 6pm.
Tickets can be bought on arrival at the box office and there is access to the public transport on Hallgate through the car park, which is approached from Frances Street entrance.
The Youth Group, which is known locally as the Young Lit, caters for children and young people from the age of seven to 18 .
It delivers drama workshops during termtime.
The theatre has a long tradition of encouraging young members to take part in drama productions at the theatre, where they can showcase their skills and what they are learning.
Several members who joined the Young Lit at the theatre some years ago have now become famous stars.
They include Sheridan Smith, from Epworth, who has won a string of awards and been awarded the MBE, and Thomas Howes, from Woodlands, who became a star in the international hit television series Downton Abbey.
Thomas is himself a former star of a Little Theatre pantomime.
He appeared as the panto dame in our production of Dick Whittington, back in 2011.
He is pictured right, in the centre, with theatre actors Melissa Vaughan and Tommy Roberts.
Young Lit classes take place every Saturday at Hallcross Lower School. St Michaels Road, Bessacarr, from 10am until noon and 1pm until 3pm.
