Olympic fever to hit Conisbrough

IT’S countdown time to the moment when the Olympic torch will arrive at Conisbrough tomorrow morning!

The South Yorkshire Times will be there to share the historic moment with local people and give rolling updates and pictures as the flame wends its way through Conisbrough and on to Doncaster.

It will arrive at Old Road, Conisbrough at 9.50am and will be carried on to Warmsworth by nine torchbearers including charity fundraiser Acker Shaw of Rossington.

Ice-hockey star Ben Bowns, 21, from Mexborough is one of the Warmsworth runners, sharing the thrill of carrying the torch with 44 other torch bearers through Doncaster.

The path through Conisbrough will take in Church Street, Castle Hill, Low Road and Doncaster Road.
