SCHOOLS across the Dearne Valley are being encouraged to sign up to an initiative which gives them a chance of landing free tickets to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
So far, only 26 per cent of schools in South Yorkshire have signed up for the Get Set network, which allows access to a small allocation of tickets to the Games.
The scheme also offers schools a chance to enter a ballot for one of their pupils to run with the Olympic Torch when it travels through South Yorkshire in the run up to the Games.
Gary Verity, Chair of Yorkshire Gold, said: “With just weeks to go until the closing date to join the Get Set network we are encouraging schools across South Yorkshire to join up.”
The deadline is December 16 and submissions should be made via www.london2012.com/getset
