A Doncaster glass company facing a series of strikes over pay said it was committed to seeking an agreement to prevent industrial action .
Employees of the international packaging company Ardagh Glass in Doncaster and Barnsley, have voted overwhelmingly for strike action and for industrial action short of a strike over what they describe as an inadequate pay offer.
In an interim statement, an Ardagh spokesperson said: “The company is disappointed at the result, and believes it has been reasonable in its offer.
However, it understands and acknowledges the strength of feeling as demonstrated in the ballot. Management remains committed to achieving an agreement, and is currently preparing for further discussions.”
