A bus service in the Isle of Axholme has been saved from closure.
North Lincolnshire Council has stepped in and vowed to provide a replacement route for the Service 90 between Crowle and Scunthorpe, which is due to end this summer.
Holloways Coaches currently run the service, but the authority said their contract will finish at the end of July and the company was not seeking to renew it.
Councillor Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for highways and neighbourhood, said: “As always, our first concern is to make sure that passengers who rely on these buses can continue to make their essential journeys.
“We are sorry to hear that Holloways have decided to pull out of their contract.
“However, we do have a few weeks breathing space to decide what to do and arrange for a replacement operator to run these services.”
