KIND hearted children and staff at a nursery are recycling old clothes to help injured firefighters.

Warren Nursery in Balby is collecting in bags which are then collected by the Fire Fighters Charity, in partnership with Beaumont’s Recycling.

Sharon Gladwin, nursery manager, said: “We have been supporting this recycling scheme for some time and have collected over 678 kg of clothes for the Fire Fighters Charity, raising over £270 for the nursery, which will be used to pay for new equipment.

“We are also teaching the children a valuable lesson in recycling and reducing waste.”

The nursery in Tickhill Road is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

The charity provides help and treatment for more than 13,500 fire fighters nationally injured in the line of duty.
