Kingsway Gardens and Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe are two of the very best in the UK – and that’s official!
The parks are among a record-breaking 1,582 parks and green spaces that have received a prestigious Green Flag Awards.
The award recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.
Councillor Neil Poole, cabinet member for Neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the eight consecutive year from Keep Britain Tidy.
“We have some lovely green spaces in North Lincolnshire and we are proud that Kingsway Gardens and Woodlands Crematorium are among the best in the UK. It takes a lot of hard work and effort to keep them looking good for visitors and passers-by. It makes a real difference to an area if the Park is well looked after. If it looks inviting, people will feel welcome.”
International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme. All the flags flying this year are a testament to the efforts of the thousands of men and women, staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award.”
