A GREAT-grandmother was treated to some surprise guests who travelled thousands of miles in order to celebrate her centenary year.
For Norah Fort was shocked to not only be treated to a special birthday party but also to see that her great-grandchildren had even made the trip - having travelled from as far as South Africa and New Zealand!
Norah had four generations present at her 100th celebration and having lived through two world wars, sharing her birthday on Armistice Day is an even more poignant event for the former fish shop worker.
Daughter Janet Jerrison helped organise the surprise party and got in touch with family members from across the globe who could not wait to celebrate the event.
She said: “She’s a brilliant mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
“We’re just so pleased that she had a great time.”
Staff at Cantley’s Plantation View Care Home also threw popular visitor Norah another birthday party the day after.
