Have your say

The hunt is on to find the cream of the region’s crop - and we want you to help us!

For this week we kick-off our South Yorkshire Newspapers Community Awards - and your help is needed in nominating people across a wide variety of categories.

We’ve amalgamated our popular sports, education and Superkids awards into one huge ceremony - our chance to celebrate all that’s good about our region and the people in it that go the extra mile to making a difference.

The Community Awards will be dished out in a glittering ceremony on May 6 - but before then we need you to help us with people and teams who you think are worthy of picking up one of our coveted prizes.

We’re looking for YOUR nominations for people to receive a community honour.

Perhaps you know someone who has excelled at school, or a teacher or headteacher that has helped improved their school.

Or maybe you can think of someone who has faced difficult circumstances, but overcome them.

And perhaps you may know a young citizen who could be nominated for The Hannah Brown Young Citizen Award, in memory of Doncaster teenager Hannah Brown, 17, who died last year from an incurable brain tumour but whose amazing legacy was to raise a staggering £50,000 for charity.

And we also need to know your sporting heroes both professional and amateur.

Here’s the full rundown of the 16 categories that you can nominate for.
