THE company hoping to operate a new Manvers waste plant has agreed a 25-year contract with a Leeds firm.
Leeds-based 4R will remove and recycle the bio-compost produced at the Bolton Road site within treatment plants run by 3SE.
But the plans will only come good if full planning permission is granted. Rotherham Council currently awaits approval to use a corner of green belt land on the site.
If approved, 3SE’s mechanical biological treatment and anaerobic digestion facility will process solid and organic waste, producing 25,000 tonnes of digestate to be recycled by 4R each year.
