DONCASTER’S newest department stores has opened its doors to shoppers.

Boyes has opened in Duke Street after taking on the former Ware-Mart discount store. About 25 new full and part-time jobs have been created by the firm.

The store, Boyes’ 41st branch, will prove to be a rival to the TJ Hughes store almost opposite.

Chairman and managing director Andrew Boyes performed the official opening and shoppers were offered treats such as Scarborough rock with the company name in it.

Over the last 130 years Boyes say it has built a reputation and business by providing friendly, helpful service with an extensive product range.

Boyes sell approximately 30,000 products, from soft furnishings, DIY, fashion for all the family, dress fabrics, patterns, wool, haberdashery and craft items and fishing tackle.
