Reverend Martijn Mugge has been appointed priest-in-charge at St Peter’s Church in Conisbrough.
The father-of-four trained in London and was later appointed assistant curate at St Mary’s Church in Wombwell.
He previously studied business in the Netherlands and moved to Sheffield in 1995 to help long-term unemployed people start their own businesses.
He said: “We are really enjoying settling into Conisbrough and getting to know the people. It is clear that St Peter’s Church, with its long history, plays an important role in the community and holds a significant place in many people’s hearts.”
