An Isle brewery is moving to a larger site to cope with extra demand for their ales after just a year in business.

Business is booming at the Axholme Brewing Company which is moving to a plant that will allow them to brew double the amount of ale they can produce now.

And the new base will finally allow couple Mike and Jules Richards to move their business onto the Isle of Axholme.

The firm, which launched in April last year, is moving from Bottesford to a new exhibition brewery built by and housed at Seven Lakes Country Park in Ealand.

When completed, the brewery will be available to view from the bar area by the public.

Mr Richards, head brewer, said: “Teaming up with Seven Lakes Country Park makes sense for all of us.

“We finally get Axholme Brewing Company housed on the Isle of Axholme and have more space to work with, and Seven Lakes gets a microbrewery to add to their list of attractions.”

In the last year, the firm has been selling beer across the UK, with casks ales sold from London to Inverness.

In addition to the cask business, beers have been bottled since September and sold at markets, food festivals and in specialist shops.
