New head has vision for primary

A NEW headteacher has high expectations that he can turn the school into one which is outstanding.

Neil Butler, 33, took up his post at Thorne Green Top Primary at the start of the term and has already put a new behaviour policy in place.

Mr Butler joins from a school in Hessle, classed as outstanding by Ofsted.

He said: “I was a failed footballer, I didn’t make the grade so I decided to go into education to try and improve the life chances for all children.”

Mr Butler has previously also taught at Askern Spa school

He said he was looking forward to the challenge that at Green Top, where he will lead the school of 327 pupils and 44 members of staff.
