A SUPPORT group for people who have mental health issues has won a prestigious national award.

The Personalisation Forum Group scooped the top gong in the ‘Putting People First’ category of the Great British Home Care Awards.

The group has only been together for a short while, having formed through using Rebound - a town centre service in South Parade which caters for people with mental health problems.

The group aims to challenge perceptions of mental health and helps to support its patients.

It also runs solely by self funding and had to raise thousands of pounds just so it could get to the glitzy award ceremony in London.

A celebratory party was held at The Salutation pub, also in South Parade, for the group and other Rebound patients.
