WEST End here they come!

Stars in the making will, for one night only, bring songs from the top musicals to Goldthorpe.

Musical director Simon Carr has brought Il Divos and Divas together from the young and talented ranks across the Dearne and Don.

Tonight, April 27, their one-night show at the Dearne Playhouse will include hit songs from musicals such as Les Miserables, Phantom, Jekyll and Hyde, Cabaret, Sound of Music and more.

Four of the six singers, average age 22, are applying to London stage schools, and three are Dearne performers.

Hospital accountant Jordan Ramsey from Darfield aims to swap his pens for theatre paint. A protege of the late Holin Hammerton and Dearne Big Band member, Jordan is known for performances in Jekyll and Hyde and Les Miserables, while soprano singer Jess Boulton from Cadeby has been Ann in Half a Sixpence and Nancy in Oliver. Qualified in song and dance, she recently appeared on television show Tonight’s the Night. Christopher Webster of Wombwell has been in theatre for 15 years, taking leads such as Kipps in Half a Sixpence and Billy in Anything Goes, while Becky Winterman, Tommy Roberts and Joanne Laycock bring are all new talent from Doncaster.
