STAFF at a pub have created the UK’s largest tortilla chip weighing more than 50kg.
The team from the Cheswold Brewers Fayre pub and restaurant based in Doncaster’s Leisure Park have put together the giant snack to celebrate the launch of their new Tex Mex menu at their all-you-can-eat buffet nights.
The ‘record-breaking’ tortilla is made from ingredients including more than 40 kilos of flour and 20 litres of water and baked in a special three metre deep oven.
The giant chip is 200cm x 150cm, has a total area of three square metres, took bakers more than 50 hours to make - and at least six staff members to carry!
And if that’s not enough, the Tex Mex treat is the equivalent of 10,000 normal sized tortilla chips.
Emma Price, marketing manager at Brewers Fayre, said: “We are really excited to have created the biggest Tortilla Chip in the UK and we can’t think of a more fun way to launch our new Tex Mex all you can eat buffet”.
The Tex Mex buffet is held every Wednesday from 5pm.
