A minute’s silence will be held across Barnsley on Monday in memory of Conley Thompson.
The seven-year-old was found dead on a construction site on Bank End Road, Worsbrough, on Monday morning.
Conley vanished on Sunday evening sparking a huge police search after telling his mother he was going out to play with friends.
The youngster was found dead the following morning after becoming stuck in a vertical pipe on the construction site.
People across Barnsley will take part in a minute’s silence to remember Conley at noon on Monday, August 3.
An appeal to raise £5,000 for his funeral has attracted donations totalling more than £2,600 in its first few days.
Conley’s grandmother Deborah Fraser paid tribute to him as ‘a lovely little lad’ with a ‘smile that could light up a room.’
It is understood Conley, of Underwood Avenue in Worsbrough Dale, had played on the site frequently, despite being warned not to.
