A SECOND charity golf day has been set to raise money in honour of a teacher who died suddenly.
Richard Waight, 23, died unexpectedly from Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (or SADS) back in 2009.
The former Hayfield School science teacher was also a keen golfer and helped tutor pupils in the sport after school.
Following his death, the Richard Waight Schools Golf Foundation was set-up through parents Ken and Jackie, of Boat Lane, Sprotbrough, to continue their son’s love for the sport and offer tuition to children.
A charity golf day was also launched last year in his memory which raised over £5,000 with another planned for this year.
The event will again raise cash for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and the golf foundation.
The charity event takes place on May 18, at Doncaster Golf Club in Bawtry Road, Bessacarr.
For details call Ken on 01302 311244 or 07828 123 165.
