MAYOR Peter Davies says he wants no more lap dancing clubs in Doncaster, after backing regulations which will govern where they are allowed to operate.
New rules approved by Doncaster Council’s cabinet effectively ban the clubs from a range of areas which are deemed to be sensitive.
It means the council will not grant operating licences which would be required under the new rules at sites including near schools, parks, recreation areas and churches.
Mr Davies said: “I would rather not have had any of these establishments in Doncaster. But I am told the two we do have are not open on a regular basis.”
Doncaster has two sites were lap dancing takes place - Bentleys, in Hall Gate, and Players in Cleveland Street.
