A police hunt has been launched for a man who allegedly carried out an armed robbery at a Doncaster petrol station.

The armed robbery took place at around 3.25pm on Monday, March 21, when it is reported that a man with his face covered entered a petrol station in Selby Road, Thorne and threatened staff with what is believed to be a metal bar.

A quantity of cash was taken during the incident before the man fled towards Thorne.

He is described as wearing dark jogging bottoms and a black jacket with a dark hooded top underneath.

Any witnesses, or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 680 of 21 March 2016.
