Man who fell down quarry cliff rescued by fire crews

Fire crews were called to rescue a man who fell down a cliff edge in a quarry last night.

The ground at Stainton Quarry in Hurst Lane, Doncaster, had given way while the man was inside the quarry.

The man fell about 20-25ft down the cliff edge and needed to be rescued.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service was called at about 9.17pm last night (Friday) and rescued the man.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, but the man’s age and the extent of his injuries is not currently known.
