A 30-YEAR-OLD man has died after being hit by a car on a Doncaster dual carriageway.

Police said the Scawthorpe man was believed to have been lying in the road when he was struck by the green Vauxhall Astra on Friday night.

He suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man from Woodlands, was heading out of town on the A638 York Road when his vehicle collided with the victim close to the junction with Stanley Road.

Anyone who saw the incident, which happened at 11.25pm, should call police on 0114 2202020.
