A MAN who has pleaded guilty to assaulting a father-of-two is due to be sentenced today.

Paul Oakden, 21, will appear at Doncaster Crown Court from 10am for the New Year’s attack on Auckley dad Iain Eldridge, 35.

Mr Eldridge was left fighting for his life in intensive care with a serious brain injury when he was floored by a single punch after celebrating New Year’s with his girlfriend in Bawtry.

Oakden, of Kingswood Close in Bawtry, admitted assault on April 30 at Doncaster Crown Court and will be sentenced for grievous bodily harm.
