Coffee cups and cake tins are beginning to clank as Macmillan gears up for its biggest fundraiser - The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The annual event takes place on Friday, September 27, and the Free Press is urging readers to stick the kettle on and sign up.

A record-breaking £60,000 was raised by people in Doncaster alone, last year, by holding coffee mornings at home, work or in the community.

This year, with Macmillan needing to increase its funds to reach the growing number of people affected by cancer.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Doncaster, Amy Hebdon commented: “One of the great things about this event is that it’s such good fun, it gives people a great sense of achievement and is very flexible. Every pound raised by The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will help us fund our vital services”.
