SHE is only six years old, but Wombwell songster Macey-Leigh Bennett struck just the right chord with hospital patients. The little lass with a big voice raised £107 at a party at Wombwell Spiritualist Church, and spent the money on books and toys for the children in Barnsley Hospital.

Melanie Kinsman, Matron for Children’s Services, said: “We are so grateful to Macey-Leigh and the church for this donation. It is very kind of them. The toys she has bought will no doubt bring smiles to the faces of the children staying there.”
