CYCLISTS without lights should watch out if taking their bikes out and about after dark.
A new clamp-down on bikers in the Dearne towns of Goldthorpe, Thurnscoe and Bolton, could see pedal cyclists without lights fined £80 - unless they take remedial measures.
Those who are found to be cycling around without the necessary lights will be handed fixed penalty tickets - but these can be rescinded if they visit a given premises to have lights fitted.
“It will cost people £80 if the tickets run their courses,” said Dearne tasking officer Allan Sneddon.
“It’s a way of trying to force people to embrace safety and get lights fitted to their bicycles.”
