A woman whose face is often the first to give help and comfort to Isle people in distress, has been recognised for her special qualities.

Community First Responder, Libby Stennett of Misterton was ‘highly commended’ for her service by East Midlands Ambulance Service at its Values and Recognition Awards, held to celebrate ambulance service staff and volunteers who are the pride of the NHS.

Libby has been a volunteer for eight years and was trained by EMAS to respond to patients suffering medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, chest pains, breathing problems, strokes and collapses, to give care until the arrival of the ambulance at the scene.
