The phrase “practise what you preach” is ringing true for a sector skills organisation which has taken on a Doncaster teenager as an apprentice.

Skills for Justice, which works closely with the employers of the justice, legal services and Armed Forces sector to develop apprenticeships has boosted its ranks by recruiting Kirsten Leslie.

The 18-year-old is working towards a level two apprenticeship in business administration at the Sheffield-based firm with the help of South Yorkshire-based training consultants Future-Wize.

Kirsten, who is also a Doncaster police cadet considered an apprenticeship as she did not want to go to university.

“I started applying for jobs in the areas of work I have always been interested in, including police and emergency services. This was how I found the vacancy.”
