Kids are street-wise

Youngsters from a Thurnscoe school proved they were streets ahead of the grown ups when they came up with names for a new housing development in their area.

Pupils from the Hill Primary School took part in a competition to choose street names for a new Barnsley Council project in their neighbourhood. The council, with Bernslai Homes and Bramall construction has put up 19 new homes on two streets, named by the children as Lidget Close and Miners Row. The winners of the contest were invited along to a naming ceremony and awarded with goody bags and vouchers.
