MULTI-million-selling rockers Kasabian have announced a one-off warm-up date at The Dome this spring.

Tickets to see the Leicester-based band at the venue on Tuesday, March 19, will go on sale this Friday and are expected to sell out within minutes.

The date is one of two warm-up shows ahead of a sell-out appearance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 22 and follows their successful arena tour in 2011.

Andy O’Grady, events manager at The Dome, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Kasabian.

“They are rock legends and have a massive fan base that we are sure will come out and support them in Yorkshire.

“It is great that we can attract such high-profile events to Doncaster, bringing fans from across the region to the town to enjoy a great night of fantastic music,” added Mr O’Grady.

Formed in Leicester while still at school, the band took their name from Linda Kasabian, one of the members of the notorious Charles Manson cult.

Their electronica-indie rock fusion combined with a rough vocal style firmly established them as more than just a flash in the pan and injected a large dose of energy back into the Brit-rock scene.

The group have racked up four huge-selling albums and a string of UK hits, including Fire, Empire, Club Foot and Shoot The Runner.

Special guests, yet to be announced, will join the band for their live date in Doncaster.

Tickets costing £35 are available from 9am, Friday, from the Dome Box office on 01302 370777 or via www.the-dome.co.uk.

Doors open at 7pm.
