AS PART of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations a Scarecrow Competition is being held in Owston Ferry.
The event takes place on Friday June 1 when judging of the scarecrows takes place at 1pm.
All scarecrows should be placed at the front of the property and visible from the road wherever possible and should have a jubilee theme.
Prizes have been sponsored by Howard Dairies.
The village is also hosting a number of other celebratory activities including a football match, field day, tea dance and Songs of Praise with the Armthorpe and Elmfield Brass Band.
St Martin’s Primary School is also getting involved with a hog roast and procession.
