CROWLE and Ealand Town Council is making plans for the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations set to take place in June.
Members voted to set a £1,000 budget for the purchase of gifts to hand out to local school children when they met for their regular monthly meeting last week.
The council also sanctioned a £500 donation to the Isle of Axholme Lions however members decided against planting a commemorative tree at the car park on Potts Lane, Crowle.
Instead, the council will explore other potential sites for planting trees, including Manor Park, St Oswald’s Church and Crowle’s three schools.
Councillor Ian Mason said he would also make enquiries to the Woodland Trust about the availability of trees.
